U.S. Brand President Of Breguet, Michael Nelson Hosts Special Reception Celebrating The Bicentennial Of The Wristwatch

On Tuesday April 24, U.S. Brand President of Breguet, Michael Nelson hosted a special reception at the Breguet boutique in New York City,  kicking off the celebration of the Bicentennial of the invention of the wristwatch.

The 5th Avenue boutique is not just a store, but a Breguet museum, where watch enthusiasts can view a wide range of timepieces, including some of the most powerful Tourbillon watches on the market.

The evening not only celebrated the Bicentennial of the wristwatch, but also the 10th anniversary of Breguet’s Reine de Naples ladies watch collection. Downstairs of the private reception was Breguet’s Queen of Naples exhibit complete with archives, renderings and an assortment of rare Reine de Naples watches. These pieces are most significant, as they put Breguet on the market as the first wristwatch “Fit for a Queen” in 1810-1812.

Also at the event, the Young New Yorkers of the New York Philharmonic  toasted music director, Mr. Alan Gilbert and I had the pleasure of meeting Breguet’s Global CEO, Mark Hayek.

As a huge fan of the brand, I believe Breguet’s future is very bright and while it’s important to recognize its future, it is equally important to understand just how special the brand’s heritage is. Breguet is company rich in history and we were honored to be a part of such a great event.

Thank you Breguet and U.S. Brand President Michael Nelson for inviting us as your guest.
