TAG Heuer Welcomes Ryan Gosling As Brand Ambassador

Ryan Gosling needs no introduction. The multi-talent actor started acting at a very early age on Disney Channel's "The Mickey Mouse Club," which also launched the career of Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears among others. While already making his mark in several (independent) movies, it was the romantic movie "The Notebook" that made him a household name in 2004. Since then, his star has only been rising, as he continues to show his versatility in a large number of roles. Over the years, he has won numerous awards, including a Golden Globe for Best Actor, for his performance in the romantic musical "La La Land." TAG Heuer is a brand with a very rich heritage. Especially in regard to chronographs, few brands can rival the role that TAG Heuer played in this field. Today, this type of complication still dominates the collection of the brand, and rightfully so. However, this doesn't mean that TAG Heuer is dwelling on the past, replaying past hits, but instead letting them serve as an inspiration for the future. A watch that makes this obvious is the Carrera Sport Chronograph Special Edition, which is inspired by the 'DATO-45' model from 1965.

To replicate this, TAG Heuer opted for a smooth bezel without a tachymeter scale. In fact, this scale is even absent on the dial, where the brand opted for a cleaner 60-seconds indication instead.

Is Green Still A Trend Color, As Two More Watches Hit The Market?

There was a time, not so long ago, when green was a rare color to encounter on a watch. Now it seems to follow firmly into the footsteps of blue. This color was once a bold statement next to black and silver dialed watches but has now become another staple. In the past few years, we have seen many more watches that feature green dials and details. Will this color now become a common option, instead of a trend, especially now also TAG Heuer and Blancpain launch new watches featuring it so prominently?

Black On Black: Four Watches That Appeal In Monochromatic Colors

Black on black seems to be one of the most boring color combinations possible for watches. It seems to be hard for designs to shine, and show their full potential when it is more difficult to see all the different details. It is however exactly that understated look that draws quite a bit of people to these watches, and over the years they have created their niche in the world of watches. Blue Dials Of Baselworld 2018

When I started last year with 'Blue Dials of Baselworld' I did not expect it to become a reoccurring topic. Earlier this year at the SIHH, we already saw enough blue dials to warrant a similar article and this year at Baselworld....well, judge for yourself!

Perfect Everyday Watches

We spend a lot of time discussing highly complicated watches, or beautiful vintage pieces, which we all love, but the fact of the matter is that the majority has one or two watches that get worn the most. They might not be the most complicated, but many of them are fine watches that offer the perfect balance between being robust and good looking, making them go along just fine with whatever you wear and whatever you do! While it indeed differs from person to person what that watch is, these are some of the front runners!
