Leave it to the world of haute horlogerie to bring luxury to the world of smartphones. This summer luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer unveiled the MERIDIIST, which the manufacture has dubbed a ‘communication instrument of the international elite’.

The MERIDIIST combines the high-end classic design and finishes of a TAG Heuer timepiece, the finest materials of horology, artisan expertise and avant-garde engineering. For example, this smartphone features a GMT function, which allows the user to move between time zones at the touch of a button. The 430 hand-assembled components include dual SIM slots for maximum connectivity, while the software features an exclusive 24/7 worldwide personal concierge service. And just as a timepiece can be customized, so too can the MERIDIIST, with options for diamond-encrusted, python skin, rose gold, and stainless steel versions.

The MERIDIIST is not the Swiss manufacture’s first foray into the world of electronics. TAG Heuer previously unveiled the Racer Prestige Gold, the first touchscreen smart phone to be entirely constructed from the leading-edge composite carbon fiber, titanium and rubber materials originally developed for motor racing and aviation.

Fans of the manufacture can find the MERIDIIST at TAG Heuer boutiques, luxury mobile boutiques and selected watch and jewelry retailers as of this month.
