Last week, the iconic Cullman Hall of the Universe on New York’s Central Park West was the backdrop for a glamorous, celebrity-infused charity drive by Swiss haute horlogerie house Tag Heuer. Hollywood heavyweights Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz, both of whom are Tag Heuer brand ambassadors, were on hand to bring attention to the company’s good cause.

The elite event was held under the glass-cubed planetarium sphere at the American Museum of Natural History and brought together under one roof NY celebrities, fashion, business and media leaders from the four corners of the globe.  The charity push was for two very good causes:  raising funds for Hurricane Sandy victims and raising funds to promote gender equality and female empowerment across the world.

500 high-profile guests were in attendance, and some were specially flown in for the glitzy, glamorous event.  Attendees were treated to a special performance by the New York City Ballet and were later encouraged to dance the night away to the beats of DJ Evalicious.  For every guest, TAG Heuer donated $100 to New York Cares Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund and further donated $100 for every guest to Cameron Diaz’s charity UN Women (The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women).

Both stars wore new limited edition TAG Heuer timepieces; she displayed the new Link Lady Trilogy Limited Edition in steel, while he wore the Link Limited Edition with blue dial.  Speaking at the event, Diaz stated: “TAG Heuer uniquely brings together the elegance of generosity and the essence of luxury. I am very proud to be a part of their efforts to make the world a better and more beautiful place.”

Profits from the sale of the Link Lady Trilogy Limited Edition will go to the UN Women charity, while proceeds from the Link Limited Edition will go to support DiCaprio’s charity partners Green Cross International and Natural Resources Defense Council.
