Audemars Piguet Royal Oak SuperSonnerie

Last year, Audemars Piguet introduced the world to the Royal Oak Concept RD#1, a landmark concept timepiece that propelled acoustic performance in chiming watches to new heights. The new piece contained surprising innovations that defied previous practical limitations like waterproofing to produce a clear, full sound.

At this year’s SIHH, the concept becomes a reality with the new Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie, a new timepiece that produces an incredibly clear, full and sustained tone thanks to those same key innovations, plus a few more.

Crafted in  a super-light titanium case, the Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie was built from the ground up with sound in mind. The piece features a newly designed case construction that prevents sound absorption. Even the steel used in the gong structure of the watch was pre-prepared to create the best sound possible in a minute repeater.  The sound is said to match the clear, harmonic tone of a traditional pocket watch.

The Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie has a striking, futuristic look, featuring an openworked dial that reveals the new technology within. Yellow accents on the dial and the seconds hand pop against the titanium of the case.
