Once again, during the run up to Roland-Garros, Swiss luxury watchmaker Richard Mille and tennis champion Rafael Nadal have teamed up to present the RM 35-02 Rafael Nadal. Like its predecessors in the “Nadal” line, it represents a leap in technological achievement for the brand.

Powered by the new RMAL1 calibre, the RM 35-02 was created as a response to Richard Mille fans that wanted a self-winding mechanism at the heart of a Nadal calibre. The brand’s patented variable geometry rotor allows the wearer to adjust the winding to suit their activities.

The automatic RM 35-02 Rafael Nadal is available in either NTPT Carbon or a bright Quartz-TPT® Red with white highlights. Its silicon layers—each no thicker than 45 microns—are treated with a red resin that has been specially created for Richard Mille, then layered using an automatic system that changes the direction of the fibers in each layer by 45°. The caseback features sapphire crystal protected by a anti-reflective treatment so the calibre can be seen from every angle.

Perfect for the sudden accelerations that can act on a timepiece during a tennis match, the Quartz-TPT® Red adorning the RM 35-02 can withstand accelerations of up to 5,000 g’s.
