Luxury watchmakers Piaget set female hearts aflutter when they unveiled their Limelight Gala collection at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie last month. The new collection, presented in Geneva, Switzerland, was inspired by the fanciful aesthetics of the 1960s, with a signature swirl of brilliant cut diamonds around the case.

A rounded case is sublimated by two elegantly extended lugs, the feminine curves beautifully accentuated by a bezel set with a row of progressively sized brilliant-cut diamonds. Altogether, the case is set with 62 brilliant-cut diamonds. Simple accents complete the look of this timepiece, with an understated dial, sleek Roman numerals and a refined satin strap with ardillon buckle. With various combinations of diamond-paved dials, white gold, pink gold, white straps and black lettering, this an incredible new contemporary style.

This distinct new model from SIHH 2013 is as much a timepiece as it is a wearable design or piece of art, though at its heart it is a serious watch, with a Piaget 690P quartz movement crafted by the Manufacture Piaget.
