Piaget Altiplano Chronograph

Piaget has a near-obsessive preoccupation with creating very thin watches. The high-end watchmaker continues to redraw the limits of watch design. Thanks to that ambition, breaking records has become an semi-annual exercise for the brand. Back during this year’s SIHH, Piaget unveiled the Altiplano Chronograph, the world’s thinnest hand-wound flyback chronograph.

Now, that groundbreaking wristwatch is available in the USA. In the Altiplano Chronograph, the marvels at Piaget have managed to cram the traditionally cumbersome chronograph complication into an razor-thin 8.24 mm case. For all that effort, Piaget comes away with an incredibly sharp and stylish, yet seemingly simple piece of haute horlogerie.

The piece is available in pink gold or white gold with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds, and comes with a black or brown alligator leather strap. The watch is priced at $28,000 US.
