The NY Post reports that a Manhattan lawyer is alleging that his lost Rolex watch, bought in 2009, was sold to Canadian rapper Drake.

Lawyer James McMillan went to Rafaello & Co. on West 47th Street with his rose gold Rolex Presidential with a diamond bezel for cleaning, but a week later he was told the $30,000 watch was taken by one of the store owners, Rafael Aranbayev. McMillan was told he would get it back, but upon return to the jeweler, staff informed him that his timepiece was gone.

He was subsequently given a Frank Muller watch (ranging from $30,000 to $180,000) as a replacement and was fitted for a new Rolex. Convinced he’d get his watch, McMillan gave the Muller back.

Then came news from his lawyer, Claudine King, that his custom timepiece was being worn by Drake. McMillan returned to the store, of which clients are Alicia Keys and Jamie Foxx among others, and confirmed that the watch had indeed been sold. It is believed that the Rolex in question is the one Drake dons on his album cover Take Care.

McMillan has filed charges against the jeweler. Drake, however, claims the Rolex is his own, and that he has never heard of the Midtown jeweler.
