This weekend the horse Orb took home the title at the iconic Kentucky Derby race, and luxury watchmakers Longines were on hand to celebrate his owner, trainer and jockey. The Swiss manufacture, which is the Official Watch and Timekeeper of the race, awarded Orb’s team with watches from Longines’ Saint-Imier collection during the exclusive Winners’ Circle Party.

Tennis legend Stefanie Graf, who is a longtime Longines ambassador, joined Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing for Longines and Jennifer Judkins, U.S. Brand President for Longines, to award owners Ogden Mills Phipps and Stuart Janney III, trainer Shug McGaughey, and jockey Joel Rosario with Longines timepieces after Orb’s thrilling victory. The horse raced to victory in 2 minutes and 2.89 seconds, outrunning Golden Soul in second place and Revolutionary in third at the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby.

Longines, the Official Timekeepers of this prestigious event, recently expanded their partnership with the Churchill Downs racetrack. As a result, this year the Kentucky Oaks was renamed the “Longines Kentucky Oaks”, while the brand had timepieces and luxury branded-clocks on display throughout the facilities.

Prior to the event, Longines hosted the Kentucky Oaks Fashion Contest to celebrate the elegant and iconic style of the Kentucky Derby. Celebrity judges Stefanie Graf, supermodel Coco Rocha and Harper’s Bazaar Editor Joyann King chose the most elegantly dressed attendee, who was awarded a stainless steel and rose gold Longines Saint-Imier watch with a diamond bezel.
