Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin Unveil New Pieces From Collaboration

This year luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre marks its 180th anniversary, and the manufacture is celebrating in style with the help of Aston Martin. The iconic automaker has worked with Jaeger-LeCoultre for almost a decade now, and the collaboration between the two brands has resulted in three new watches. Here’s your first look at these three new creations:

Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm Aston Martin
This alarm watch is the ideal pilot’s timepiece, with a world time display that enables readability at a glance in any time zone. The alarm function also features exceptional readability, as well as a full and powerful sound. Two juxtaposed discs appear through a large window at 9 o’clock, with the first disc devoted to hours running from 1 to 12, and the second disc to quarter-hours. Inside the 46.3mm titanium and stainless steel case, the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm Aston Martin watch boasts an automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 912. A compression key enhances the crown’s resistance to water and dust by overcompressing one of the four water-resistance gaskets. Meanwhile, a shock-absorbing case guarantees absolute precision in all circumstances. A black dial with alternating red and white indications is adorned with a surface treatment evoking the grill on Aston Martin cars. The logo of the famed automaker is also engraved on the watch’s caseback. This style is completed by an alligator leather strap, as well as an alternative rubber strap.

Master Hometime Aston Martin
This timepiece was inspired by the aerodynamic lines and technical prowess of Aston Martin cars. A structured black dial is accentuated by the brushed, streamlined lugs smoothly extending from the 40 mm-diameter steel case. The indications on the dial feature the Aston Martin collection’s signature colors of black, white and a hint of red, highlighting important features like the reference time with a crimson-tipped openworked hand dedicated to displaying the time zone of the place of residence. A 24-hour counter occupies the upper part of the dial, while the lower part is devoted to the running seconds. The time indications are adjusted in one-hour increments, either forwards or backwards, in order to display local time immediately upon reaching a given destination. The reverse adjustment brings the two hours hands back to their superimposed position. The eye thus perceives only one and the timepiece is once again a timepiece showing a single time zone until the next long-distance trip. At the heart of the Master Hometime Aston Martin is an automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 975H. The signatures of Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin feature side by side on the dial at 3 o’clock.

AMVOX5 World Chronograph Cermet
This timepiece guarantees readability with a central chronograph hand that is associated with two counters on either side of the vertical axis in order to count off the minutes and hours elapsed since the start of the measurement. The lower part of the dial is devoted to the operating indicator that testifies to the smooth running of the watch and comprises the date aperture appearing at its base. The inner bezel ring bears the city disc for the world time display enabling instant readings for each time zone. The dial centre is occupied by the hours and minutes hands along with the above-mentioned chronograph seconds hand. Each of these informations is highlighted by the signature Aston Martin colors of black, anthracite, white and red. An automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 752 beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour is housed within a 44mm diameter case in reinforced cermet, a material developed by research labs for high-powered race-car engines. Reinforced cermet is shock resistant yet extraordinarily light. (It is worth noting that Jaeger-LeCoultre has secured exclusive use of this aluminum ore and ceramic particle material in the watchmaking field.)
