IWC’s new Pilot’s Watches collection was unveiled in Singapore to an audience of over 250 people at the city’s iconic Red Dot Design Museum. In an incredible vintage setting, guests enjoyed a jazz and swing performance that paid tribute to the golden age of the flying trailblazers.
TV host and personality Denise Keller opened the evening and welcomed guests, after which Matthieu Dupont, Managing Director of IWC South East Asia, spoke on stage: “IWC has been at the forefront of technical engineering coupled with creative design since 1868.”
Dupont continued, “Our new 2016 collection is a clear result of heritage and experience, with a renewal of the four solid pillars upon which the collection is built upon. The classic Pilots line represents the historical connection of our aviation heritage, the Spitfire line up pays a tribute to the legendary short range high performance interceptor, The Little Prince and the whimsical world of Antoine de Saint Exupery, as well as the high performance Top Gun collection, a result of our close collaboration with the Navy Fighter Weapons School located in Miramar, San Diego. Overall, the new Pilot’s collection encompasses innovative designs, sophisticated complications and top-quality materials whilst retaining its rich aviation heritage, with an aim to perfect what is already iconic in a poetic dream of flying.”
Inspired by vintage 1930’s design, decorative features dotted the Museum, setting an authentic tone for the evening, with even personnel sporting flight-deck uniforms. An immersive aviation experience awaited guests as they arrived, with an interactive photography opportunity area and a replica of an airport runway.
