Last night in Moscow Hublot teamed up with Depeche Mode for a charitable collaboration. Together, Hublot and Depeche Mode hosted a gala dinner in the Russian capital, which raised $1.4 million for charity: water.

Guadalupe commented, “If our friendship [with Depeche Mode] can make a difference, then we must not hesitate since connection is all about sharing.”

The rock-inspired evening, which took place at the historic Tsum building in the heart of Moscow, included a dinner and an auction of three exceptional lots. Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, welcomed guests including Depeche Mode’s Andy Fletcher, Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, the band’s manager Jonathan Kessler, charity: water founder Scott Harrison and Rick De La Croix, Hublot’s exclusive partner in the Americas.

Depeche Mode themselves hit the stage to present the lots, which comprised the following:

Lot 1: a unique Depeche Mode Tourbillon commemorating the band’s Delta Machine Tour. This skeleton Grand Complication piece features a black titanium tonneau case and a black calfskin Clous de Paris strap on black rubber. This lot also included a signed, framed Depeche Mode Delta Machine platinum disc commemorating the album’s platinum status in Russia.

Lot 2: a box set containing a signed guitar and a unique Big Bang Depeche Mode Steel. This timepice features a red central chronograph hand engraved with the word ‘Moscow’.

Lot 3: number 000/250 of the Depeche Mode 2014 limited edition series. This steel chronograph features a tone-on-tone calfskin Clous de Paris strap. This lot also included three items of clothing worn by members of Depeche Mode on-stage during their world tour.

Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore commented on the event, “I am particularly pleased that, as a band and with the support of our loyal friend Hublot, we can organise this exceptional auction to raise money for our friends at charity: water and contribute to making a real difference in countries struggling to survive without access to drinking water. The money raised should help to make a real difference.”

Meanwhile, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe added, “If our friendship can make a difference, then we must not hesitate since connection is all about sharing. If you don’t share, you miss out. Hublot is in a fortunate position, and has a duty to share some of its success with those who need it.”

The gala evening was hosted at the Tsum, a six-story building which also houses Moscow’s most prestigious department store.

This isn’t the first time Hublot and Depeche Mode have teamed up for a good cause. The luxury watchmaker has been working with the band since 2010, raising funds for causes like The Teenage Cancer Trust and charity: water. Just last year Hublot unveiled the Big Bang Depeche Mode limited series in black ceramic to benefit charity: water.
