Hautlence has earned quite a loyal following for a seven year old company, especially considering the fact that it only produces approximately 100 watches per year. This year, 56 of those watches will be the inspired HL2.1, in white gold, and the HL2.2 in pink gold.

Hautlence's HL2.1
A unique way to tell the time.

The HL2 series is unique in part because of its novel hour display, which rests on a 12-link chain in the upper left of the case. Resembling a tank’s treads, it takes four seconds for the chain to advance at the top of every hour. Minutes are displayed on a retrograde dial below the hours. Large front and rear crystals enable the timekeeping enthusiast to observe all 552 components, which compose several intricate complications worth watching.

Water resistant to a depth of 30 m, both the white or pink gold cases contain 92 jewels and have a power reserve of 45 hours. An automatic mechanism with a gold oscillating rotor powers the piece, which is mounted on an alligator skin strap held together by a custom clasp of titanium or gold. At 50 mm high, 40 mm wide and 17 mm deep, the limited edition HL2 series is guaranteed by Hautlence for three years.
