bovet for ladiesWODWhat better watch to gift on Valentine’s Day than one with hands that form a subtle heart shape when they meet. The Bovet Récital 11 Miss Alexandra accomplishes this with unusually shaped hour and minute hands that form a heart every hour just before they intersect. They stand out against a decorated dial of guilloched mother-of-pearl. The upper part of the main oval dial is dominated by a realistic moon disk that was created by engraving it with the likeness of the surface of the moon and filling in hollow parts with a luminous material, so that it seems to reflect the sun’s light. The phases are formed by overlapping disks that have been blackened and treated to resemble stars. The moonphase function requires only a single one-day correction every 122 years, and the corrector is placed concentric to the winding and time-setting crown, so it can be adjusted simply by pressing the center of the crown. The central dial is set with 10 diamond indexes. It contains the self-winding Caliber 11DA16-MP, with a 3-day power reserve.
