As you may remember, a few years ago Blancpain started the production of a series of Grande Decoration timepieces. This piece, which Haute Time got an exclusive look at in Russia, is part of this collection.

The Blancpain Villeret Grande Decoration Saint-Petersburg is a classic-looking thin watch, with functions including hours and minutes. Housed in a 45mm rose gold case, this piece features a white enamel dial with small Roman numerals. If you are looking for a classic watch to wear with a suit and not attract garish attention to your wrist, this is the piece for you.

However, although it looks discreet, it is anything but simple: with a price tag of 2 million rubles, it’s not just the usual hours with two arrows!

Turn it over and you will see the great Caliber 15B, decorated with hand-engraved scenes of the city of St. Petersburg, including Red Square and the Cathedral of the Annunciation. (Blancpain has previously made editions featuring scenes of Paris, Hong Kong, Switzerland and China.)

This is a unique piece, and an inscription on the caseback attests to the fact that only one of these models was ever produced.
