Haute Auto of the Week: Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept recently debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, demonstrating the company’s efforts to continue incorporating new technology and design.

The concept features a streamlined instrument panel exemplifying “a whale fluke just before it re-enters the water,” according to Mercedes.

State-of-the-art technology includes the Intelligent Drive system which uses stereo cameras to detect obstacles up to 500 meters away. The system also helps the vehicle’s suspension system adjust for the most seamless ride possible.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept spares no expense in terms of luxury interiors, offering calfskin-upholstered seating in addition to hand-woven silk carpets and roof liner.

This vehicle concept also includes a bi-turbo V8 engine that offers 700Nm of torque.
