The Peking to Paris Motor Challenge is one of the oldest automotive adventures still running today, and Swiss watch manufacturer Frederique Constant is serving as the event’s official timekeeper for the 2016 edition.
The challenge, which was first completed all the way back in 1907, features an eclectic collection of vintage cars driving on some of the world’s most technical, unforgiving courses. For this year’s rendition, over 100 vintage sports cars from top flight brands like Bentley, BMW Chevrolet, Fiat, Mercedes, Peugeo, and Porsche lined up under the giant arch in front of the Great Wall for the 13’000 Km challenge.
This year’s rendition of the event snakes through North Mongolia before heading across Russia and the Republic of Belarus. Next, the route takes an exciting new route through Europe with closed-road mountain climbs in the Alps. The route was newly revised to allow easier access for the viewing public.
At the end of the journey, on July 17th, all teams will be welcomed to the the iconic Place Vendôme in Paris for a celebration. The winning driver and navigator of the winning team will be awarded with an exclusive Frederique Constant timepiece that will be unveiled during the celebration.
