Luxury watchmakers Richard Mille have the industry buzzing with news that François Tauriac has been appointed as the company’s new Managing Director. Tauriac comes to Richard Mille from the Figaro Group, where he worked as a reporter, Managing Editor, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher at several of the group’s publications. Tauriac also served as a member of the Figaro Group’s Executive Committee, and developed the first magazine television channel on YouTube: “Very Watch”.

François Tauriac was born in 1961, and studied law before beginning his career as a journalist, following in the footsteps of his father Michel Tauriac, a journalist, renowned radio producer and biographer of Charles de Gaulle. At eighteen, Tauriac also worked as an apprentice for his grandfather, the famous jeweler Jacques Lenfant, who created watches for major names on Place Vendôme. The experience was the start of Tauriac’s lifelong love of timepieces.

In his new position as the Managing Director of Richard Mille, Tauriac will pursue the brand’s development by concentrating on selective distribution, organisation, logistics and communications.
