This week, I had the opportunity to stop by the Richard Mille flagship boutique in Beverly Hills, California.

They had the first Richard Mille RM 027-01 worn by tennis superstar Rafael Nadal at the 2013 US Open at the boutique. This watch is even lighter than the first RM 027, and has a whopping price tag of $690,000.

The RM 27-01 was one of the highlights of SIHH 2013, so it was great to see the watch live in person, and I must say, that for the few that can collect this (only 50 were produced) this is one of the best watches to own – it will definitely be a collectors piece for some time to come.

This watch is not a stunt, but the actual watch that Nadal wears during matches, and putting it on the wrist, I realized it is so light, that the technology itself, is a true masterpiece. There are not many tourbillon watches that can be worn throughout 5 set straight sets during a tennis match without impeding the player, but this is definitely one of the only watches that can be worn on a full time level.

I also have to say that for any true watch collector, you must check out the Richard Mille boutique in Beverly Hills. This is one of the most amazing places for any watch collector, and of course Richard Mille fans. Make sure you ask for our good friend Wael El Saadi who is the manager of the boutique, and was a great host showing us one-of-a kind pieces.
