Arnold Schwarzenegger and haute Horlogerie retailer Westime came together to support the actor’s After-School All-Stars program.

Last Saturday, the movie legend and former California governor opened the doors of his home to host the fifth annual Arnold Schwarzenegger-Westime Charity Night together with Westime founder John Simonian. It garnered the record $1.85 million for Schwarzenegger’s national charity that helps low-income students.

Despite the leisurely setting, the cowboy antics and the festive activities of the night, the importance of the gathering did not escape the guests. Said Westime Founder and After-School All-Stars (ASAS) board member John Simonian, “I am so proud to not only support ASAS’s important efforts personally, but to also connect the watch industry’s most generous and compassionate companies with this important night of giving.”

Some 12 jewelry and watch brands under Westime’s umbrella contributed to the ASAS’s cause. These include Westime’s partners Richard Mille, TAG Heuer, Audemars Piguet, Ulysse Nardin, De Grisogono, Hublot, Breitling, Bvlgari, Girard-Perregaux, Buben & Zorweg, Glashutte Originial and Zenith.

Schwarzenegger founded ASAS in 1992 with the goal of assisting underprivileged students succeed in and out of the classroom. Since then, the organization has grown into a leading national provider for free year-round curricula that focus on academics, health and fitness. ASAS has 19 chapters, serving more than 73,000 students in 50 cities across the country.

Expressing his gratitude to the guests and donors who attended the June 3 event, Schwarzenegger said, “We ensure that our most at-risk kids enjoy programs that will help them to become tomorrow’s business leaders, entrepreneurs, actors, doctors, and politicians. I’ve supported after-school programs for 25 years, and I’ll continue to bet on it.”
