Today we’re taking a close up look at the Portofino Hand-Wound Big Date by IWC Schaffhausen. Available in white gold and red gold, the Portofino Hand-Wound Big Date is the newest addition to the Swiss manufacture’s Portofino collection.

The white gold model of the Portofino Hand-Wound Big Date features a slate-colored dial with rhodium-plated hands and indices, while the red gold version features a silver-plated dial with gold-plated hands and indices.

True to its name, the Portofino Hand-Wound Big Date features a big date display at 12 o’clock in large, highly legible figures. It also features a power reserve display. When fully wound, the new Portofino boasts a power reserve of 192 hours (8 days).

On the white gold version the Portofino Hand-Wound Big Date is completed by a black leather strap, while on the red gold version it is completed by a dark brown leather strap. Both versions feature the orange leather lining on the inner surface of the strap that is the trademark of its renowned manufacturer, the Italian company Santoni.
