Today’s Haute Time Watch of the Day selected by Carmelo Anthony comes directly to us from the SIHH 2013 Fair going on in Geneva. It is Roger Dubuis’ world premiere, The Excalibur Quatuor in Silicon.

This amazing timepiece is created using silicon, which is extremely light and durable and weighs half of what titanium weighs and is four times harder. The case is described as “metallic crystal”, and has a stunning greyish color. The silicon used to create it is similar in the atomic makeup of a diamond and takes just as much expertise to work with.

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur in Silicon features an RD101 hand-wound mechanical movement which uses a new complication with 40 hour power reserve. Shown here on a black hand-stiched genuine alligator strap with a silicium folding buckle.

Roger Dubuis will produce 3 pieces of the Excalibur Quatuor in Silicon.
