Today’s Haute Time Watch of the Day is The Project Z8 by Harry Winston, the newest Project Z timepiece just revealed at Baselworld.

In 2004, Harry Winston created a watch that representing the quest for innovation, featuring Zalium, a material designed by Ronald Winston, son of Harry Winston. As a chemical engineer, and an MIT researcher of rocket propellants and an expert in zirconium alloys, Ronald Winston identified one zirconium alloy that would be perfect for an indestructible watch, he named that alloy Zalium, and The Project Z collection was born.

Powered by a mechanical automatic-winding Dual Time Manufactured Swiss movement, housed in a Brushed Zalium 44.2 mm case, The Project Z8 features hours/minutes at 1 o’clock on the dial, Day, Date/Night indicator at 3 o’clock and retrograde dual-time display – creating a wonderfully futuristic three-dimensional dial. With sapphire crystal and case back, the Project Z8 is water-resistant to 100 meters.

Fitted with a black rubber strap with The Clou de Paris design, and a matching Zalium buckle, The Project Z8 is part of a Limited Release of 300 pieces by Harry Winston.
