This year Carl F. Bucherer covered all the bases at Baselworld. Two pieces in particular from the luxury watchmaker’s 2014 unveilings got us thinking about the transition from the beach to the boardroom. The Patravi ScubaTec is the ideal watch for divers, while the Manero Tourbillon Limited Edition is certain to turn some heads in the city.

Take a look at the two, and let us know on Twitter and Instagram which one you would pick!

Housed in a 44.6mm stainless steel case, this piece is immediately recognizable as a diver’s watch. Indeed, the sea is represented throughout the Patravi ScubaTec, with a blue marking on the first quarter of the bezel, glowing blue markers, and a blue notch on the crown. There is also a 3D relief on the caseback featuring two manta rays, one of the underwater world’s most famous creatures.

The Patravi ScubaTec also features an automatic helium release valve between 7 and 8 o’clock on the case.

The hands and markers are coated with Super Luminova that glows light blue in the dark. A sapphire crystal glass almost four millimeters thick protects the dial up to a depth of 500 meters. At its heart is the CFB 1950.1 automatic caliber, the accuracy of which is certified by a C.O.S.C. chronometer certificate. It is completed by a bracelet of shiny and matt stainless steel that makes this the perfect timepiece to wear over a diving suit.

This limited edition features a 41.8mm 18K rose gold case and crown. The dial, in either black or white, beautifully conveys functions from hours and minutes to a central hand for the date ring, a 24-hour counter at 12 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock.
