Luxury watchmakers Breguet have unveiled five new specialty clocks at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. The Swiss watchmaker, who previously created Carnegie Hall’s first-ever Exclusive Timepiece, installed four new Classique clocks and one Reine de Naples throughout the building.

Clive Gillinson, the executive and artistic director of Carnegie Hall, said; “We are enormously thankful for our new partnership with Breguet. Carnegie Hall and Breguet share a unique bond based on our rich history of dedicated artists who ‘keep their eyes on the stars, and their feet on the ground’ if I can adapt a quote from Teddy Roosevelt.”

At last year’s Opening Night Gala, prior to the kickoff of the 2012-2013 season, Breguet unveiled the first addition to Carnegie Hall’s lobby since the landmark building’s renovation in 1986. The Classique Tourbillon was installed in the Morse Lobby of Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, symbolizing the manufacture’s devotion to the preservation of arts and culture around the world. With guilloche dials, caseband fluting, blued Breguet hands and its tourbillon, the Classique collection is an iconic representation of the brand’s achievements. Meanwhile, the Reine de Naples collection pays tribute to Caroline Murat, the Queen of Naples and sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, for whom the first wristwatch was invented by Breguet in 1812.

Gillinson and Michael Nelson, the US brand manager for Breguet, celebrated the unveiling with a private reception on Thursday, February 07, 2013. Guests were treated to guided tours of Carnegie Hall by its docents, who provided an inside perspective on this historic New York City establishment along with information about each Breguet clock on its premises. The evening closed with a concert performance by Pablo Heras-Casado leading the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
