IWC Smart Watch IWC Connect

IWC Schaffhausen has just announced the launch of a new device, the IWC Connect, an intelligent tool embedded in the straps of its mechanical timepieces.

The IWC Connect is designed to enable owners of IWC timepieces to control devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity directly from their wrist.

By connecting the device to the strap, IWC is making sure it maintains the integrity of its handcrafted mechanical timepieces. Nevertheless, the move shows the seriousness with which the Swiss watch industry is taking wearable technology. With it, IWC becomes the latest Swiss watch brand, after Montblanc and TAG Heuer to invest in smart technology.

According to the brand, the IWC Connect will be introduced, starting with the Big Pilot’s watches, but will be made available to other models in its collection.

Further information and the launch date will be announced in the coming months…
