A testament to the brand’s innovative approach to horology, the UR-102 “Reloaded” also embodies the orignial collection from Baselworld 1997.

From every aspect, the mechanical watch is an obsolete instrument, yet we continue to have a love affair with it. It is, therefore, a passion that drives the industry and that is also clear when you look at the creations of many of the exhibitors at de SIHH. Because of that passion, they went above and beyond to create movements, complications, finishes and decorations that were not possible before, or continue a tradition that is often almost forgotten.

Light conditions are always challenging at a fair, and there is a constant pressure to finish up in time make it to the next appointment. Simultaneously it is also important to respect the subject and photograph it in an environment that it suits. In the digital age, you can, fortunately, see very quickly if you are on point, and very little things are as gratifying as ending a long yet exciting day, seeing that the fruit of your work is actually looking pretty awesome!

The brand has come a long way in those twenty years, creating watches like the UR-103, UR-1001 and the EMC Time-Hunter. A signature feature of many of them are of course the three cone shaped discs indicating both the hour as well as the minutes, brought together by a stroke of genius. Of course, this complication is also present in the UR-T8, because what would a 20th-anniversary piece be without it?
