Haute horlogerie maker Blancpain, the world’s oldest watch brand founded in 1735, has combined technological expertise, exquisite craftsmanship, art and loyalty to Valentine’s Day by creating a watch to celebrate love.  The Saint-Valentin 2013 chronograph is the perfect gift for lovers to declare their feelings for each other on February 14; the timepiece features gemstones, colors, and shapes inspired by the international symbols of love.

Blancpain artisans have combined a white mother-or-pearl base and diamond heart-shaped hour markers.  Five vivid red hearts which seem to float across the bottom half of the watch’s dial add a touching splash of color; and the 34mm steel case is adorned with a bezel set with two rows of full-cut diamonds which makes one think of the dazzling effect of love.

The watch, whose decoration was painstaking, was also crafted with painstaking technological detail.  A date window and a power reserve of 100 hours are featured along with a mechanical self-winding Calibre 1150 movement. The seconds hand counterweight features the Blancpain logo; the rotor is also decorated with hearts.

Bringing the watch together is a strap of white ostrich leather with an alzavel lining, which reveals more beautifully designed hearts.  There will only be 99 pieces in this limited edition Blancpain Saint-Valentin 2013 model, and the watch comes in an elegant white wooden box encrusting with hearts, which give a hint of the dial design within.
