In a couple of weeks we’ll be walking the 36 miles of aisles at Baselworld, the world’s largest watch fair in Basel, Switzerland, gathering info on all of the exciting new watch introductions. For now, we bring you a sneak preview of five new pieces about to make their debut:

The Louis Moinet Qatar Tourbillon (pictured above) features a dial made of fragments from a meteorite found in Qatar after a 10-day hunt in the desert. The hand-engraved applique around the periphery of the dial depicts two bent swords and sand dunes, a tribute to the state of Qatar. With the Louis Moinet signature crown guard.

Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity, with a balance roller, lever and escapement wheel all made of silicon, making it more accurate and less energy hungry. It also eliminates the need for lubricant. The escapement of Caliber ML230 is visible on the dial, next to an offset hours and minutes dial.

The bezel is embellished with a mosaic of diamonds arranged in an invisible setting, formed by three rows of diamonds, with two triangular diamonds surrounding a hexagonal diamond. A triangular emerald is set just above the hands and logo on the dial.
