Audemars Piguet continues to break barriers through its award-winning sports ambassadors, and now the Swiss brand is celebrating its championship of Haute Timepiece Madness and the success of brand ambassador LeBron James as MVP.

James, an Audemars Piguet brand ambassador for one year now, was named Most Valuable Player for the 2011-2012 season last weekend. Lucky streak it is not, for this is the third time in four years that he earned the NBA’s undoubtedly most prestigious individual award.

It’s clear the renowned brand and James both follow the same philosophy: “To break the rules, you must first master them.” Audemars Piguet, the righteous master of fine watchmaking, boldly goes by this philosophy statement, which is a metaphor embodying its ambassadors’ field of action. As lords of their own art and achievers of breakthrough performances and results, one only has to go through the popular media to easily grasp the concrete evidences of their triumphs–including Audemars Piguet’s victory of the Haute Timepiece Madness compeition.

This “madness” was incepted to discover the people’s choice of the finest timepiece, shown at this year’s Salon International de la Horlogerie (SIHH) and Basel World 2012, to which Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition took the credit of being the foremost, the “hautest” piece.

This Audemars Piguet unique model won the fifth and final round of the competition with a 67.4 percent to 32.6 percent victory over the Greubel Forsey GMT. Audemars Piguet acquired over 35,000 votes in the last day of voting alone, and withstood every round of competition with an ample lead, trailing its rich brand heritage that has exemplified its mastery in expressing time.
