Watchmakers and golfers find common ground in the precision of the craft and sport. Audemars Piguet global brand ambassadors Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, and Ian Poulter led by world number one Rory McIlroy drove Team Europe to victory on September 30th, winning the Ryder Cup against the American team with a score of 14.5 points to 13.5 points. In a match play that was neck and neck until the end, the Piguet players pulled ahead showcasing their passion, professionalism, and mastery of the sport to retain the trophy for Europe.

The competition was held at Medinah Country Club, in Medinah Illinois. These players turned the tide after being led 10-6 through two  days of golf, and came back with a run of five birdies by Ian Poulter followed by  near perfection in Sunday’s match play, gleaning 8.5 points of a total possible 12. Their mastery and final run up for the victory exemplifies Audemars Piguet’s central values, “To break the rules, you first must master them.”
