With all the excitement surrounding The Omega brand lately, boutique openings around the world, their brand ambassadors and of course the recent worldwide release of James Bond Skyfall, it was wonderful to see yet another unique piece from the Omega brand.

During a recent visit to the Omega Boutique in New York City, I had the opportunity to see a one of a kind Omega Timepiece. The timepiece I am referring to is part of the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch limited edition which celebrated the Apollo 11’s 40th Anniversary.

This particular Moonwatch is so unique because it is the only one that is signed by Buzz Aldrin. When Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped out of the Apollo 11 and stepped foot onto the moon, history was made and of course that day will never be forgotten. The timepiece on Dr. Aldrin’s wrist at the time of his historic moonwalk was The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch.

The particular timepiece signed by Dr. Buzz Aldrin is number 14 of 69 pieces created worldwide by Omega and is presented in a beautiful hand crafted box with a commemorative Apollo 11 24k gold coin. This limited edition collection was created in platinum with gold accents matching the image of the commemorative coin on both the dial and the caseback. The case measures 42mm and features the famous movement used in the original Moonwatch, an Omega Caliber 1861 manual wind.

The Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch by Omega is available at Omega’s New York City Boutique located at 711 Fifth Avenue for $135,000.00.
