A day prior to the start of the highly anticipated Canadian Grand Prix, the latest Hublot Big Bang Ferrari collection premiered in Montreal. Hublot Managing Director for America Jean-Francois Sberro and Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen presented the line at the Chateau d’Ivoire boutique. Friends of the watchmaker and the automobile giant jointed them for the occasion, which transpired on the eve of this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix.

“It is an honor to be joined by Kimi and to be hosted by Mariam Khan and Messrs. Suhail and Mounzer Kaidbey at the Château d’Ivoire boutique, in the continuation of a partnership that reflects both Hublot and Ferrari’s dedication to innovation and excellency through the development of a truly standout collection: The Big Bang Ferrari,” said Sberro in a press release on the occasion.

Having commenced in 2011, the Big Bang Ferrari timepieces feature memorable designs that reflect not only Hublot’s craftsmanship but also remind of Ferrari race cars. An elegant metamorphosis between the two partners, the latest edition astounds with a myriad of remarkable details.

Those include a 3-dimensional dial minute counter and date window at 3 o’clock, whose style resembles a tachometer and the date quotes Ferrari’s iconic speedometer. At 6 o’clock stands the Prancing Horse of Ferrari, while at 9 o’clock ticks the seconds counter in the shape of an air extractor.

Furthering the references to race cars is a red line that ribbons the case, similar to the groove encompassing the LeFerrari. The semblance is complete with a selection of straps that evoke Ferrari’s interiors. The black alcantara on black rubber strap, for instance, flaunts red overstitching, while another version boasts classic black Schedoni leather. Hublot’s patented one-click deployant strap systems allows for switching between strap designs.

Fueled by the UNICO manufacture self-winding flyback chronograph movement, the limited-edition timepieces come in titanium, unidirectional carbon as well as Hublot’s proprietary King Gold.
