This month, Haute Time will feature 24 gift ideas leading up to this year’s winter holidays. Inspired by the watchmaking industry, these gifts will be dedicated to collectors of all things hand-crafted. Join us every morning on Haute Time to discover a new idea for that special someone this winter.

A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Dual Time

We knew 2015 would be a special year for A. Lange & Söhne. The German brand from Glashutte celebrated its founder’s 200th birthday year with a trilogy of watches in honour of F.A Lange, a GPHG-nominated minute repeater, and the expansion of one of its most celebrated collections: The Saxonia. The A. Lange Saxonia Dual Time is not a new model, per se, but the brand has reworked the design to increase its legibility, and make it easier for the wearer to follow both time zones. Hour indices are now closer to the periphery of the dial, double-baton indices have also been added at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, and numerals are now used for the tens markers. The changes may be subtle, but they add a whole lot to the end product. Sometimes, simple is best.
