It was an incredible year thus far at the world watch shows, with so many amazing new black-and-white watches for men and women making a strong appearance on the market. The new black/white look is on target with 2016 fashion trends, where black, white (and a lot of color) make strong appearances — particularly in geometric patterns. Here we bring you a quick look at 10 Top black and white watches for the spring, summer and fall season.
Chanel Boy-Friend Paved
Let’s face it; Chanel is the master at black and white, so you know they have to offer an incredible black-and-white look regularly. The new Chanel Boy-Friend Paved watch we like best is crafted in 1-karat white gold and features a dial magnificently set in diamond pave. The outer dial and case are also both set with brilliant-cut diamonds for a total of more than 400 diamonds weighing more than 2 carats. The movement is high-precision quartz.
Rolex Daytona 2016
Rolex lovers just won’t be able to pass up the all-new Daytona watch in steel with a black Cerachrom bezel. The watch comes with either a black or white dial, but the black-and-white bezel is the true allure of the newest Cosmos graph Daytona. The white dial is also particularly alluring thanks to the black subdial rings. Even better… it’s powered by the caliber 4130 certified Superlative Chronometer. ($11,800)
Audemars Piguet Millenary Zebra
Another one for the women, this all-new 18-karat white gold Audemars Piguet Millenary watch has a dial pattern that evokes a truly nature-inspired appeal. The zebra pattern is created with brilliant-cut diamonds and onyx. The 39.5mm case is ensconced with brilliant-cut diamonds and houses a hand-wound movement. It is finished with a large-square alligator strap and is water resistant to 20 meters. ($78,300)
Piaget Altiplano Chronograph
Classic elegance is all about black-tie savoir-faire and Piaget executes the look meticulously in the Altiplano Chronograph. The 41mm watch is crafted in 18-karat white gold on a black alligator strop. ($29,700)
Graff Princess Butterfly
Sometimes black and white is not that black and white. This stunning Graff Princess Butterfly watch is a secret watch. The butterfly wings – set totally in diamonds – separate to reveal the dial beneath. The black satin strap and the 14.52 carats of diamonds bring the elegance of black and white to life. Price on request.
Faberge Visionnaire DTZ
Crafted in 18-karat white gold, the all-new Faberge’ Visionnaire DTZ houses the Caliber AGH6924, made in conjunction with watchmaking genius Jean-Marc Wiederrecht of Agenhor. The watch offers a central jumping second time zone that is visible via an almost periscope-like magnifying lens that makes the hour seem far down the center hole — a neat visual trick that makes the second time zone visible only to the careful (and close) onlooker. The automatic-wind watch is shown here in white gold and black DLC titanium. $29,500.
Richard Mille RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat
Crafted in 18-karat white gold and fully set with diamonds, this RM67-01 Automatic Extra Flat watch features a skeletonized 3.6mm-thin movement design that offers depth and dimension. The bridges are finished in black electroplasma and the winding rotor is in platinum. The numerals are crafted from solid metal and each is filled with SuperLuminova for night viewing. The watch represents the first time the brand has built its iconic case shape in an extra-flat format. $180,000.
The new Cartier Hypnose collection of watches features a nice take on round and oval shapes. This model is crafted in 18-karat white gold with black lacquer and brilliant-cut diamonds. It marks the first time the brand has used black lacquer as a bezel material and it offers a refreshing appeal. The movement is quartz. Available beginning next week in Cartier boutiques. $156,000.
Bovet Pininfarina OttantaSei 10-Day Tourbillon
This year Bovet unveiled intriguing new Pininfarina watches. The one that gets our attention is this titanium OttantaSei Tourbillon with 10 days of power reserve. The manually wound movement offers 10 days of power reserve even though there is just one barrel. $165,000.
Chopard Happy Diamonds Anniversary
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the famed Chopard “Happy Diamonds” watch, and the newest renditions celebrate it splendidly. This quartz-powered version with cushion-shaped case is crafted in 18-karat white gold with 5.56 carats of diamonds, a mother-of-pearl dial and black alligator strap. $48,500.
